Daniela McIver - Practice Manager & Nurse
Hi, my name is Daniela I am highly experienced Veterinary Nurse with 24 years of dedication to animal care. With a passion for consultations and creating exceptional client experiences, I am skilled at offering compassionate support and expert advice to pet owners. I ensures that clients feel informed and confident in their pets/ care, helping them make the best decisions for their furry family members. I has a strong background in patient care, preventative health, and providing guidance on nutrition and wellness. I pride myself on building strong, supportive relationships with both animals and their owners, always striving to make every visit a positive experience. Outside of work, I enjoy unwinding with a good book or spending quality time with my almost adult children and my laid-back bulldog, Millie. Together, we often embark on relaxing day trips along the bayside, cruising on the boat where I love capturing special moments with my camera.

Mikayla - Veterinary Nurse
Mikayla is one of our Veterinary Nurses at OurVetUnderwood, where she provides compassionate and expert care to animals. Mikayla has been working as a veterinary nurse since 2022, with a completed Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing from Animal Industries Resource Centre as of February 2025, having earned her Certificate III in Animal Studies in 2022. Mikayla is particularly passionate about continuing her education in anaesthetics, striving to ensure that patients receive the safest and most effective care before, during and after surgical procedures. She also enjoys assisting owners and their pets, offering guidance and support to help them make informed decisions about their pets’ health and well-being. She is passionate about preventative care and keeping pets healthier for longer by assisting in early prevention, recognition and management of chronic or acute illnesses. Outside of work, Mikayla enjoys spending time with her family and her lively crew of pets, including two border collies, a Jack Russell, two cats and three horses. In her spare time you may find her enjoying time exploring on horseback. Mikayla’s love for animals and her commitment to both her profession and her personal interests make her a well-rounded and compassionate member of OurTeam.

Tamara Stegeman - Lead Vet
Dr. Tamara is a passionate and dedicated veterinarian who graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004 with first-class honours. Her commitment to continuing education and staying current with the latest veterinary practices allows her to deliver the highest standard of care, working closely with her clients to create tailored treatment plans that achieve the best outcomes for both pets and their families. Tamara has a keen interest in complex medical cases, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, preventative care, and geriatric medicine. She is especially dedicated to preventative care, ensuring our furry family members live long, healthy, and prosperous lives. Whether it’s helping a senior pet live their golden years in comfort or solving a tricky medical puzzle, she’s all about providing compassionate, high-quality care that makes tails wag and purrs abound. Outside of work, Dr. Tamara is a family-oriented individual who enjoys spending time with her loved ones. She is a proud pet owner to two cats, Vegemite and Ember, and a playful miniature schnauzer named Astrid. Her personal interests include scuba diving, traveling to new destinations, and camping. She values her time with friends, constantly seeking out new adventures and cherishing the memories they create together.
